Managers involved with IT procurement from MISA Ontario member municipalities are invited to gain insights into new and emerging issues at a two-day conference in Toronto called Strategic Procurement and Sourcing: What Does the Future Hold?
The conference will be presented November 26-27 at the Toronto Metropolitan Hotel by the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC). An early-bird registration fee of $550 for members and $700 for non-members applies until November 17.
Topics to be explored include: the status of e-procurement; recent developments in sustainable procurement; issues in data protection and security; adoption of new procurement vehicles and the need for a global perspective. The conference is designed to deliver knowledge to administrators, procurement specialists and the vendor community from experts from Canada and around the world.
Roy Wiseman; CIO of the Regional Municipality of Peel, will address “Public Sector and Industry Initiatives to Standardize Templates and Agreements.” Among other government speakers will be Jim McCarter; Ontario auditor general, and Katharine Tapscott; senior counsel, Commercial Law Group, Ontario Ministry of Government Services.
