PSSDC Excellence in Public Service Delivery Award Nov. 13, 2009
 Award nomination form

The Public Sector Service Delivery Council (PSSDC) has created a new national award for excellence in public service delivery. Employees or groups within municipalities that are members of MISA/ASIM Canada associations are specifically invited to apply for the award.

The 2010 Excellence in Public Service Delivery Award will be presented annually by the PSSDC to an individual or group within the Canadian public sector who rises to the challenges of their work to excel in public service delivery.

Nominations for the inaugural award must be submitted by January 21, 2010.

Enclosed with this article please find the Call for Nominations paper, which outlines eligibility and evaluation criteria and includes an application form. MISA chapters strongly encourage our member municipalities and/or their employees to apply for the award.

Eligibility is based on service excellence demonstrated by an individual or group providing efficient, effectual and seamless service delivery to internal and/or external customers.

Applicants must be from a jurisdiction that is represented on either the PSSDC or the Public Sector Chief Information Officer Council (PSCIOC). Municipalities are represented on the PSCIOC by MISA/ASIM Canada. They are represented on the PSSDC by the Municipal Service Delivery Officials (MSDO) organization.

The PSSDC and PSCIOC comprise the Joint Councils, which have been working since the early 1990s to develop interjurisdictional strategies to enable and improve electronic service delivery. Announcement of the 2010 recipient Excellence in Public Service Delivery Award will occur at the winter Joint Councils meeting February 24, 2010, in Windsor, Ontario.
