It is expected that a final decision will be available on or before Friday, March 23. An email will be sent to all once the final program has been created.

Thanks for your interest in MISA 2012 - Your participation will provide the foundation for an excellent professional development program.

The theme for the 2012 Conference is "TransITion - Building the Future ".  The conference will focus on how Information Technology solutions and services can be used prepare municipalities for the future.  The conference agenda will have four streams:

  • Management- how IT managers deal with challenges of managing a staff that sees continual change in technology and changes in role of IT to effectively managing the transformation we face.
  • Business- how IT partners with the departments we service to develop solutions that will meet the business requirements of the departments to provide improved value to the Citizens within the community.
  • Technical- how technology can be used to transform the IT division in the municipal sector to meet the demands as the demographics of the people within the municipal sector changes and the demographics of citizens within the community we service changes.
  • Workshop- will build on the work started at MISA 2010 and aims to: Identify Business Opportunities and  requirements for creating a working committee that will continue to meet beyond the conference on initiatives that are common within the municipal sector.

Topic Presentations will be 45 minutes in length.  As it's our intention that this year's conference appeal to a broad community within the public sector, presentations should be developed with that in mind and presenter submissions should meet the guidelines provided in the Presentation Application Form.

Vendor Presentation guidelines:

  • Vendors presenting should include a  municipal partner where the products or services have been implemented or are in progress of being implemented
  • Presentatioin should ensure the municple partner is present and delivers a major component on the presenatation
  • Presentations should not be product/service specific, although content may make reference to particular products or services in support of the main objective of the presentation.

Please refer to the MISA Ontario website for more information on the MISA 2012 Draft Program and conference.

We look forward to receiving your expression of intent.
