MISA Ontario 2012 Conference - Call for Speakers

The MISA Ontario 2012 Conference will be held from May 27-30 in Hamilton, ON.  This year's theme is 'TransITion - Building the Future'. MISA & URISA Ontario Hosting Joint Workshop

MISA Ontario and URISA Ontario Chapter have partnered to host a 2012 Spring Event on Wednesday April 11th and Thursday April 12th in Sault Ste. Marie. This event will provide a wonderful opportunity to network with your peers, introduce new and exciting innovations and ideas, share experiences and collaborate on solutions.

This is the first call for papers for the Spring Event. If you have an achievement or an interesting project you think the rest of Northern Ontario's Municipal IT and Spatial Communities should know about, then this is the forum for you!  Please include with all abstracts a working title, a text body of 100 words in length and submit to the Programs Committee at programs@urisaoc.ca by Feb. 10.

Registration for this event will open later in February.

MISA Ontario 1st Annual 'Snow Day' Event Planned!

Open Government Workshop - 'Today's Open Government ~ A New Approach to Public Service'

The City of London is pleased to host MISA Ontario's Open Government Workshop on Nov. 24, 2011.  The last two years have seen dramatic changes in the evolution of open government, open data and open technologies. This workshop will provide a current-state assessment together with case studies in open data and Gov 2.0 / Web 2.0 technologies and their roles in public service delivery. The workshop will combine presentations, a panel discussion and delegate roundtable discussions to review the challenges and opportunities of open government, open data and web 2.0 - social media.  2011 MISA Awards Submissions Available

Submissions received for the 2011 MISA Awards have been posted to the Share Point directory under the '2011 MISA Awards' folder and are available for MISA Ontario members to download. Submissions covered a variety of topics and came from many different municipalities. The submissions contain detailed overviews of new initiatives and contribute to the sharing of best practices and ideas exchange.  Thanks to all those who participated and congratulations to the 2011 award winners!

MISA Ontario 2011 Municipal Member Input Survey Results

Preliminary results from the 2011 Municipal Member Input Survey are now available.  The Member Services & Program Committee will be undertaking additional analysis over the short term and will be proposing specific action items and next steps over the summer months.  You can find the preliminary results in the Share Point directory under 'Publications' , in the Municipal Survey folder.
